Numerous boat launch ramps provide access for pleasure, pontoon and fishing boats. Fishing can be good at any time, particularly when current is flowing. The lake houses multiple fish species including three kinds of bass, three kinds of catfish, two species of crappie and multiple species of sunfish, plus striped bass, paddlefish and saugeye. Camping, boating and fishing are the hot ticket here. Located in east-central Oklahoma, at Webber Falls, the lake has over 150 miles of shoreline to explore. The facilities at these areas include designated campsites, picnic areas, boat launching ramps, drinking water, swimming beaches, and sanitary facilities. There are three recreation areas on the lake that offer many opportunities for water oriented activities. Many have predicted that the striped bass will reach weights in excess of forty pounds in Oklahoma waters. For the fisherman the predominate species of fish in the lake are catfish, white bass, black bass, crappie, bream, walleye, sauger, buffalo, carp and a rapidly growing population of striped bass. ![]() Sportspeople will find recreation opportunities at Webbers Falls Lake the year around. There are 8 recreation areas on the lake and 2 downstream from the dam, all equipped with excellent facilities. ![]() ![]() Webbers Falls Lock and Dam is located on the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System and is located at navigation mile 368.9 about 5 miles northwest of the town of Webbers Falls, Oklahoma. Near the upper reaches of the lake is Fort Gibson Stockade, once one of the most important military establishments on the western frontier. Webber Falls Reservoir lies about 3 miles upstream from the historic falls, where many steamboat captains were forced to drop anchor and unload goods when water was low.Īt one time, this area was the most important steamboat landing between Fort Gibson & Fort Smith. ![]()
